Kettle United are a community football club and are structured to promote and encourage the
development of football skills within the kingdom of Fife.

The earliest traces of the club date back to circa 1878 and the archive photographs reflect
the footballing trends within Scottish football. During this period of approximately 130 years
the team has predominantly been an amateur side with no age limit though there was a period in the
early 1960`s when they were a very successful secondary juvenile (under 21) side.

Kettle has had many names during its history from its formative days of Kettle United on to Kettle
Vale, Kettle FC, Kettle Amateurs, Kettle Juviniles, Station Inn to the present name of Kettle United.

Football has been played on 4 different pitches within the village. These include Myreside
(opposite the Station Inn and approx 200 yards to the west), a park just off Ladybank road,
a public park (donated by Major Lawson) off cemetery road and finally to its present position
in Rumdewan.

In 1990 the reincarnation of the club was restored by the locals and the club joined the
North East Fife league, however after just one season the club decided to join the breakaway
Kingdom Caledonian league and have never looked back.

The club has since established a reputation of producing some of the finest football in the region.
Success has followed and the trophy cabinet in the Station Inn has received numerous additions over
the years.

Fife Cup winners (2 times), Scottish Brewers Cup winners, Kingdom Cup winners,
SM Plumbing Cup winners, Barnets of Fife Cup winners, Duncraig Shield winners (2 times).

The club have enjoyed long cup runs in the Scottish Cup (The Holy Grail) but have lost out
twice in the quarter final stages to the eventual winners but hopefully our luck will change soon.
